Two National Toxicology Societies Celebrate 25 Years in 2004
In 2004, the
Dutch Society for Toxicology will celebrate its 25th anniversary. In
honour of this anniversary a special two-day meeting will be organised
June 10-11,
2004. National and international speakers, covering the broad field of
toxicology will be invited to give insight in the past, present and future
of their field of research. Further details concerning the programme
and registration will be announced at the website of the Dutch Society
for
Toxicology, www.toxicologie.nl.
Also in 2004 (April 21-24th) The British Toxicology Society will
celebrate 25 years of existence at its Annual Congress at Heriot
Watt in Scotland.
Although there will be an opportunity to reminisce, the emphasis will
be on looking to the future and a wide range of topics relating to
understanding mechanisms through new “omic” and in
vitro technologies, the study of cytokines and PPAR-mediated
effects. In addition, more applied
symposia on dealing with uncertainties in risk assessment and an evaluation
of bioassays will be covered as well as a range of keynote speakers.
