Abbreviated Curriculum Vitae of Dr. Elaine M. Faustman Prof. Dr. Elaine M. Faustman received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Zoology from Hope College, Holland. She completed her graduate studies (Ph.D.) from the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI and her Postdoctoral Research Training with the Departments of Pharmacology and Pathology, of the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. Prof. Dr. Elaine M. Faustman has worked at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA since 1993 where she has served as an Associate Chair of Department of Environmental Health (until 1996) and presently serves as a Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, Director for the Institute for Risk Analysis and Risk Communication, and Director of the Center for Child Environmental Health Risks Research. She has also served as an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Engineering and Public Policy, Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA since 2001. Prof. Dr. Elaine M. Faustman has held numerous positions both nationally and internationally. She has participated in several international educational programs including spending five summers as a Faculty member of the Risk Assessment Summer School, (RASS) IUTOX. She has also participated as a member on numerous international committees. Additional she has been a May Visiting Research Scientist at the University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy (1991, 1992), a Visiting Research Scientist, Safety in Medicines, Imperial Chemical Industries, Macclesfield, England (Summer 1987) and a 2007 Reviewer on the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, Ottawa, Canada. Nationally, Prof. Dr. Elaine M. Faustman has held over fifteen positions within the Society of Toxicology. Other national positions include: President, Teratology Society; Councilor, Society for Risk Analysis; Chair, Gordon Research Conference, Mechanisms of Toxicity; Member, HESI, International Life Sciences Institute, Board of Trustees- Executive Committee; Secretary (2002-8); Council Member, National Advisory Environmental Health Sciences Council of the National Institutes of Health; Chair, Committee on Developmental Toxicology, National Academy of Sciences, National Research Council; Fellow, Society for Risk Analysis; Councilor (2006-07); Fellow, American Association for the Advancement of Science. She has also won several awards including: 2007 Humane Society and Proctor and Gamble Alternatives Award; 1996 Best Paper of the Year Award in Fundamental and Applied Toxicology, Academic Press and Society of Toxicology; 1983-1986 New Investigator Research Award, National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences.
