IUTOX Global Toxicology Directory

Global Toxicology Directory

IUTOX has implemented a pilot program for the Global Toxicology Directory workgroup utilizing the ResearchGate social networking platform.

This tool provides individual toxicologists with the ability to network with other scientists for the purposes of sharing research, solving local problems, and learning about career opportunities.

Participation Requirements:

  • Only IUTOX Member Societies may nominate or approve individuals for inclusion in the directory.
  • Entry requirements will be minimal: Participants must work as a toxicologist or in a related field and maintain an active membership in an IUTOX Member Society.
  • Member Profile Information, accessible via the Directory, will be managed and maintained by the individual member.
  • Where no IUTOX Member Society exists, scientists may be “adopted” by a neighboring country or region and presented for inclusion in the directory.
  • IUTOX will promote and encourage Member Societies to participate in the Global Directory.

Request nomination to partcipate in the Global Toxicology Directory.

Pilot Program: ResearchGate, a public (open) social network platform, is used to establish and manage this Global Toxicologist Directory.  Users can opt in or out of the network at their will. Users have the right to set security preferences that limit the information displayed within the platform to others. A search interface is used to find and view colleagues and their shared information via their profile. Participants have access to resources and activities within the platform to foster collaboration and communication and can share publications, links, images and files. Participants have the ability to create their own workgroups.

A workgroup has been established for the Global Toxicology Directory. Once nominated by their member society, users accept the invitation to become a participant.  The workgroup features include a member directory, file sharing, discussion board, polling, and calendar.

ResearchGate platform features:

  • Allow users to network with the largest global community dedicated to science and research: helps you to expand contacts, share knowledge, and find potential research partners.
  • Topics make it easy to ask questions, get answers and share interesting content with other researchers. Browse topics by discipline to find out what's happening in the field.
  • Profiles let others know what you’re working on: Listing your education and experience, your research interests and sharing publications will make your work visible to your research colleagues throughout the world.  Share publications, links, images, and files.
  • Easily find your colleagues or send invitations to research fellows.
  • Keeping up with your field simple: From conferences, jobs and the latest publications, to the topics your peers are discussing—enable you to stay informed and up-to-date.
